Our Teaching Philosophy, our commitment to Teaching Excellence and our promise to
you: We strongly believe that mastery of the English language can only be effectively taught by those who are masters of the language themselves. At 'Blue Pathway' we do not employ teachers with little or no teaching experience. We do not employ teachers who have no further education qualifications. We do not employ teachers who only have Bachelor Degrees. We do not employ teachers whose only teaching qualification is a basic TEFL certificate or diploma. The only teachers you will meet at 'Blue Pathway' will be linguistic professionals with many years of teaching experience and a recognised TEFL/TESL Masters Degree (MA, MSc or MEd) from a top United Kingdom university. To put it in more simple terms, you will be under the supervision of some of the most highly qualified English language teachers in the country - something you would not be able to find at any of the larger UK language schools. Whether you just wish to brush up on your English skills on a course of General English or if you choose a more specialised programme, you can rest assured that the quality of teaching you will experience will be second to none. That is our promise to you. |
At 'Blue Pathway' we have our own fully equipped classroom. As we are only able to
accommodate a small number of students at any one time, class sizes are very
small so individual attention is guaranteed. In line with our general rules of flexibilty, all classes are optional. Some students are satisfied with the homestay experience itself as a way to improve their English while others prefer to have daily lessons. You may choose to do as little or as much as you like. In order that students are able to maximize their use of time most efficiently, we normally only run classes in the mornings for a maximum of 3 hours. This allows you the afternoon and evening to relax and to enjoy the numerous other activities and excursions on offer. "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy" and there is much, much more to do at 'Blue Pathway' than spend your days in a classroom! Please take a look at the list of our courses offered below and see if there is anything that may suit you: |

General English - For all ages and all levels. Our General English courses focus on the four main
skill areas : Reading, Writing, Listening & Speaking. Depending on which skills
need specific improvement, classes are tailor-made to suit individual students'
requirements. TOEIC - The TOEIC is a test of your proficiency in English and is the world's most recognised English language test; more than 1.7 million people took the test last year. It is used by corporations and government agencies to assess the English ability of their employees. Language schools and universities use the TOEIC test for placement in English classes, to measure progress and to provide their students with an internationally recognized Certificate of Achievement. Individuals take the TOEIC test to track their progress in English Language improvement and demonstrate to employers their ability to use English at work. At 'Blue Pathway' we offer specialised courses for those of you preparing to take the TOEIC examination. TOEFL - The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) measures the ability of nonnative speakers of English to use and understand North American English as it is used in college and university settings. Scores on the test are required by more than 4,300 two- and four-year colleges and universities, professional schools, and sponsoring institutions. At 'Blue Pathway' we offer specialised courses for those of you preparing to take the TOEFLexamination. Eiken - These nationally administered tests which were first conducted in 1963 by the Society for Testing English Proficiency (STEP) in Japan, are highly respected in social, educational and employment circles and taken by millions of students each year. The Japanese Ministry of Education endorses the Eiken tests, and recommends that students take them. Consequently, the Eiken syllabus forms a significant part of most, if not all, Japanese junior and senior high schools' English programs. At 'Blue Pathway' we offer comprehensive tuition at all levels, from 5th Grade (the lowest), up to 1st grade (the highest). English for Specific Purposes - For those students requiring more specialised tuition not covered in our General English courses, e.g. Business English, Legal English, Medical English, we offer dedicated structured courses based on your particular area of expertise. Pre-sessional Courses - for those of you preparing to enter UK universities at undergraduate or postgraduate level and need to improve your skills in Academic English. |
